Where roots run deep, exceptional rakija begins. Korijen is a modern craft distillery rooted in the fertile land of Bosnian Posavina. We specialise in premium rakijas that capture the richness of our orchards and the extensive knowledge of those who have tended them for generations.
Korijen was founded out of a lasting connection to local agriculture and traditional rakija making. Our approach bridges past and present, combining time honoured methods like natural fermentation, copper stills, and wood fired distillation with a modern commitment to quality, consistency, and sustainability.
Uncompromising in craftsmanship
“The fruit that is not fit for eating is not fit for rakija either” – this is what our ancestors used to say, and it guides us still. All the fruits masterfully transformed into Korijen rakija are products of the Kulina region, grown not far from the distillery and harvested at the perfect moment.
We distil in small batches and oversee every step of the process, from orchard to bottle. Each rakija is crafted to express purity, balance, and elegance, from the crisp clarity of our unaged pear to the depth and warmth of our barrel aged apricot.
